MOQ 100 │ 5–7 Day Design Phase │ 3-Day PP Sample │ 14-Day Bulk │ 2 Free Design Rounds │ NDA on Request
What “ODM” Means at Our Factory
ODM stands for Original Design Manufacturing. The distinction from OEM is specific:
- OEM — you provide the design (tech pack, sample, or spec sheet); we manufacture it. → OEM Straw Hat Manufacturing
- ODM — you provide the direction (brief, mood board, reference images, or concept); we design the product, then manufacture it.
Under ODM, our in-house design team owns the concept-to-spec phase. You review and approve at each stage. Nothing goes to production without your written sign-off.
What we own end-to-end:
- Design development — silhouette, brim/crown engineering, material selection, color palette, branding integration
- Spec sheet production — full technical documentation generated by our team, not by you
- PP sample production — physical pre-production hat for your approval before bulk runs
- Manufacturing and QC — 4-stage inspection, export documentation, FOB Ningbo or EXW Taizhou
Design ownership transfers to you upon bulk order confirmation. Before that point, we hold the working files. After confirmation, all design files, spec sheets, and patterns are yours.

When ODM Is the Right Path
ODM fits four buyer situations:
- New brand, no product yet. You know the market and the aesthetic; you don’t have a product engineer or a tech pack. ODM gives you a factory-designed product built to your brief.
- No in-house designer. Your team handles sales, marketing, and buying — not product development. Our design team fills that gap without you hiring one.
- Refreshing an existing line. You have a product that’s selling but needs a new silhouette, updated colorway, or material upgrade. ODM handles the redesign and re-spec.
- Exploring a new category. You sell accessories but have never done straw hats. ODM lets you enter the category without building internal product knowledge from scratch.
If you already have a tech pack or a sample to copy, OEM is the faster and cheaper path.

The design phase (Stages 01–03) is where ODM differs from OEM. Two free design rounds are included across Stages 02 and 03. A third round or beyond is available at additional cost, quoted before proceeding.

What Our Clients Say
Elena R.
Sourcing Manager, Madrid Fashion Group
Finding a factory that offers multiple natural straw options with flexible MOQs was a challenge until we found this team. Their MOQ 50 policy allowed us to test three different designs for our summer collection without heavy inventory risk. The 3-day sample turnaround was incredibly impressive.
Hans
Lead Distributor, Berlin Lifestyle Brand
The biggest headache in overseas sourcing is usually customs. This team handled everything via DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). No hidden fees, no paperwork, and no delays at the border. The pallets of lifeguard hats arrived directly at our warehouse in Berlin in perfect condition—not a single brim was crushed during transit.
Jennifer Chen
Product Developer, Sydney Outdoor Gear
Consistency is the hardest part of large-scale straw hat production, especially with hand-woven items. We provided a complex Tech Pack, and their engineering team executed the weave patterns and branding density perfectly. Out of 22,500 units, the quality of the first hat matched the last. Their QC process is truly world-class.

We have worked with
Design Ownership & IP Protection
Who owns the design?
Design files, spec sheets, and patterns are developed by our team but assigned exclusively to your project. Upon bulk order confirmation, full ownership transfers to you. We retain no license to manufacture the design for other clients.
What if you don’t place a bulk order?
We retain the design files. The refundable design deposit covers the development cost. We do not sell or license the design to third parties.
NDA and non-resale commitment:
- Mutual NDA available on request, signed before any brief or brand assets are shared
- Your brief, mood board, and design files are assigned to a single project file — not shown to other clients, not recycled into our catalog, not used as showroom samples
- NDA covers the full project lifecycle including any follow-on reorders
Private label alternative: If you want a faster path with no design phase, our Private Label service applies your branding to an existing catalog style. MOQ 50, no design phase, 3-day sample.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Yes. Most ODM projects start with a mood board, a few reference images, and a written brief of 3–5 sentences. Our design team asks clarifying questions during Stage 01 scoping and produces 2–3 concept directions for you to react to. You don’t need to know hat construction terminology.
Design ownership transfers to you upon bulk order confirmation. Before that, we hold the working files. After confirmation, all design files, spec sheets, and patterns are yours. We sign a mutual NDA before any brief is shared, and we commit in writing not to manufacture or license the design for other clients.
Yes — the design fee is waived when you confirm a bulk order. If you go through the full design phase but decide not to order, a refundable design deposit (quoted per project at Stage 01) covers the development cost. The deposit amount depends on project complexity and is confirmed before work begins.
Two rounds are included — one at the concept sketch stage and one at the flat render / spec sheet stage. A third round or beyond is available at additional cost, quoted and agreed before proceeding.
5–6 weeks for a standard 200–500 pcs run. The design phase (brief intake → concept sketches → flat renders + spec sheet) takes 5–7 days. After design approval, the timeline mirrors OEM: 3-day PP sample, 1–3 days for your approval, 14-day bulk production, 2–3 days pre-shipment QC and shipping. ODM is longer than OEM specifically because of the design phase — there is no shortcut around it.
We flag cost implications during Stage 01 scoping and again at the spec sheet stage (Stage 03) before PP sampling begins. If the costing is too high, we can adjust the design — swap material grade, simplify the silhouette, reduce branding complexity — and re-quote before any sample cost is incurred. You are not committed to bulk production until you confirm the order in writing after PP sample approval.
